A few tidbits

Phew, it was quite a busy week! I didn't have much time for the internet, sorry.
I did have a little time for the SNL petition (see my last post). If you haven't signed, please sign it now! It's Zach's dream to host SNL and we all know he would be terrific, so let's help him!

A few bits of news: Star Trek is now #1 at the US box office: as of yesterday, Star Trek was $196,70M and #2 is Monsters VS Aliens at $194,11M
It won't stay at #1 for long, as sure Transformers 2 will overperform it (duh...), but it's a great result!

Another nice bit of news: there is a date for the release of the Heroes Season 3 DVDs (and Blu Rays of course), at least in the States: it's September 1st, mark it down on your calendar!

The nicest thing is, they released the cover art for the DVDs and guess who's on the cover, quite in a prominent position (to say the least)? Our Sylar of course! Lokee here!!!!
Third tidbit of the day, have you already bought the Star Trek Audiobook? Of course it's read by Zach himself!
You can buy it on Amazon.com, but it's also available on Amazon UK for the ones of us who live in good old Europe!
And I can assure you, the audiobook is AMAZING: Zach's voice is just perfect, he's a talented storyteller and he has a brilliant future as "howling beast of Delta Vega", in the very remote case he doesn't have any luck as an actor!

SNL petition!

Very short post today!
As you might know, Zach would love to host Saturday Night Live.
Of course the SNL people are not mad, I'm pretty sure they will give him a suitable date soon and everyone will be happy!
Yet, just to be sure,....there is a petition for Zach to host SNL.

Please sign it here!

If I ever forget why I love you

If I ever forget why I love Zach, all I have to do is to read his blog.

You probably have already read it, but this is the link to his latest post.

I really love his style: he's very sharp and very curious and always self mocking. He's informative, but there is always a hint of how sweet a person Zach is.

The photographers are taking pics of Zach? He takes pictures of them! This is almost a metaphor for Zach's clear eye on life. They look at him....he's looking back. And what a fresh, stimulating look.

As expected, Zach's career is taking off since Star Trek was released. It's not a surprise, give the fact that the film is a winner and Zach's performance is so compelling.

I hope the paparazzi will eventually leave him alone. At the moment they seem rather fond of taking pics of Zach walking his dog (???). I wish they just let him be. Yet I won't complain because Chris Pine is the one being hunted down in a worse way, I shiver just thinking about that. Well, they'll eventually get tired of Zach and his dog. Please stay strong!

Success: Zach is now #2 on the IMDB StarMeter. It means he's the second most clicked name on the Internet Movie Database. That's quite a success, since the IMDB is the most popular cinema website on the net. Kudos to that! And kudos to Chris, who's #1.

And another tidbit: Zach is on Twitter. Most people actually thought that account was a fake (he had only posted one update in months). It is not fake. So you can follow him on Twitter and also follow his production company on Twitter.

Zach had declared he hadn't much love for Twitter, and I believe he probably has someone helping him with the updates (mostly related to his blog & website), but his bio from Twitter made me smile: actor, producer, cautious internet-user
Enough said

Not only beauty

The German GQ....awesome.

There are no words to describe that photoshoot, simply amazing. And I also believe it was a fun experience for Zach. At least, I hope so!

The result was truly impressive.

On a more intellectual level (stop drooling, you in the back, you know who you are...he might be extremely good looking, but he's a serious actor!), has everyone seen "Bordeaux"?

It's a short movie directed by Dave Schwep and produced by Zach's company, Before The Door Pictures. Check it out here, link on Zach's photo on the left.

And check out Dave Schwep's other work on his website, Dreamsequences.

Success...

As Star Trek is smoothly sailing through its second week run, I'm wondering about success.
Having a movie that is making a gazillion dollars is fine; if said movie is also getting huge media attention and raving reviews it's even better.
Yet I hope success for Zach won't mean being pestered by paparazzi and gossipers. It would really really sadden me to see his privacy violated.
Zach is a very private person and I highly respect him for that. Unfortunately he lives in a world that doesn't care at all about privacy.
I'm not scared about Zach's career being absorbed by Spock...I'm scared about crazy paparazzi stalking him!
Fortunately he has a loving family and many friends. I think a young actor in this situation needs sincere friendship and love from his family to remain grounded.
Zach is a very mature and hard working actor, he's way stronger than the vast majority of his colleagues.
I hope the morbid media attention isn't too tough for his sensitivity.
That's why I'm kinda relieved he'll be back to Heroes Season 4 next month. The Heroes family is a close knit one and sure his colleagues will be a supporting force. And I'm glad he has a wonderful big brother like Joe.

Making a rainy day bright

And now, for Making a rainy day bright, I have a picture for you!

This one is not from a photo session, it's rather candid, so you can admire Zach's natural beauty.

He's probably one of the few persons whose photoshopped pics look bad. There's no need to photoshop him....I've seen a few from Star Trek that looked really weird.

Anyway, Star Trek is doing very well at the boxoffice (more thoughts on BO later) and the future looks bright.

What else would we need?

Why not another photo, to make the day even brighter?

This one is dedicated to my good friend Darya......you know why.

Zach in a sleeveless shirt, also known as "wife beater"....I don't know why, but this word always makes me giggle. Bear with me, I'm Italian and sometimes American slang sounds odd to a foreigner.

As for the sleevless shirt, I believe this photo is actually from Heroes Season 3, not from Season 2 (a.k.a. The wife beater Season).

To tell the truth, what was really mindboggling about Season 3 wasn't Zach in a sexy outfit....it was actually Zach's astounding portrayal of Sylar.
He's very creepy and very funny and very moving....all at the same time.
What I love most about Zach's performance is, I don't think Sylar is a monster, I love the way Zach hints at Sylar's humanity and fragility. It's a compelling and complex character and I don't think anyone except for Zach could pull it off.

Love for Spock on the net!

I have my computer now, back to pic posting, yay!!!!

It seems our Spock is very well loved on the net, Zach made quite an impression. Of course I did expect it 100%, but it's nice to see once in a while people understand true talent.

As for our favorite "pointy eared bast***", I found this hilarious blog entry (link below):

Spock was... a challenge. A challenge to a woman -- or girl -- who appreciates male brains but not male sexual indiscrimination (I’m looking at you, Kirk).

Kudos to the author, it's a well written entry!!!

NO!

First, happy birthday to my good friend SQ!!!!!!!!! It was yesterday, I didn't know!

No pic in this post because I'm writing from a different computer and this one's operative system is Linux Ubuntu....it won't open any pop up, wonder why.

Anyway, I have a funny link for you:

Are Chris Pine & Zachary Quinto the new Rob Pattinsons?

Oh, dear!!!

Fortunately, the reply is NO

The author writes "sorry". Sorry?!?!?!? Luckily I'd say!
Gee, I have nothing personal against Mr Robert Pattinson, I haven't seen Twilight and I have no desire to.

But NO I do not want to see my beloved, bright, beautiful Zach end up as Pattinson, hunted down by flocks of rabid fans.
Sure I dream a better future for him. Zach is, I believe, some 10 years older than Pattinson and it shows in terms of experience and wisdom. Our Zach is an Old Soul, not a centerfold for teenagers!
And he won't be defined by one single role. He's a top notch performer, he's an Actor, he's no star. If anything, he's the Sun!

Sorry to all Pattinson fans out there, but the comparison made me cringe.
Yikes, I'm still sickened!!!!

PS
And no, Chris Pine is no Pattinson either. Lucky him as well.

We just can't get enough

It's that chair again!
Yet another picture form the lovely Ocean Drive photoshoot.

A small but nice mention on this website:
http://blogs.amctv.com/future-of-classic/2009/05/substitute-actors-in-sequels.php

Talking about "substitute actors in sequels", they say:

Star Trek fans can't get enough of Zachary Quinto as the new Spock

Indeed! On a whole, we can't get enough of Zach, period. I miss Heroes already.

First post here

I was trying to create a blog on Zachary Quinto on Rottentomatoes.com, but it's packed full of bugs there, so I immediately moved it here. Hope it's the right choice!

At least here on Blogger I can add pictures!
And here you are the first one: Zach as Spock, obviously from Star Trek.
It's weird to think it's his first real movie...he's so talented and well at ease with the character you'd say he had been making movies for years.
I guess talent is everything here!
Enjoy!
